“MS Dhoni: The Untold Story”
‘Ms Dhoni:The Untold Story’ is a bollywood biographical movie based on the life of legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I was really inspired by the movie; being an aspiring cricketer myself I could relate to the struggles that Dhoni had gone through in his early days. Belonging from a lower-middle-class background he had to earn money for his family. His father was a pump operator and his mother was a housewife. Due to financial burden being so high, taking cricket as a career was a huge risk according to his father .But later on when he realised Dhoni’s potential in cricket, he supported his child. Dhoni struggled a lot to reach where he is standing today, tackling all the obstacles like weak financial condition and politically influenced cricket boards and still coming out on top.
I have always admired MS Dhoni, it was because of him that I started playing cricket. I was eagerly waiting for his movie and wanted to go to the first show, so I booked my tickets a week before in the midst of a long queue. The year 2007 was a year full of highs and lows for the indian cricket team. Team India was knocked out of the group stages of the 2007 ODI world cup by Bangladesh who were considered minnows. But later on in the same year India won the inaugural T20 World Cup under Dhoni’s captaincy. This incident inspired me to always believe in ourselves even in difficult situations. Life keeps on throwing challenges at you but you should stand in front of them like a rock and face them, head on, like MS Dhoni.
The movie shows that Dhoni’s unorthodox and fearless style of batting was the key to his success. He’s under control even when in immense pressure; constantly taking his team out of the jaws of defeat. He’s a fearless leader and is considered to be the greatest finisher of all time. He has always backed his strengths and worked on his weaknesses. It is because of his ability to believe in himself even in difficult situations that he has been so successful over the years. He has inspired me to believe in myself and back my strengths when I need them the most.
Dhoni’s life story itself is immensely inspirational, especially for youngsters like me who can follow his footsteps to achieve their goals and draw massive motivation from his struggles and hard work. His humbleness and kindness gives us a lesson that not only being a successful person is important but being a good human being is more important. His life story also encourages us to listen to our hearts and follow our dreams rather than sitting depressed and thinking what the society will think . He has been inspiring millions of people and will continue to inspire many more. His life story tells us that no matter what adversity and challenges are present, with a strong worth ethic mixed with determination and perseverance, we will be able to conquer them.
